Nathan Hammond lives in Pennsylvania and in 2024 started 3 goat businesses in remote bush counties of Kenya, each with clusters of about 10 bush pastors and a target of 1,500 goats per business. His vision is to grow these self-sustaining and self-replicating businesses to 100 locations, helping to lift communities economically, supporting 1,000 bush pastors, and helping to start more churches deeper into the bush.
He grew up as a missionary kid in Europe and is married with 7 kids (3 adopted from Ukraine). He has lived on four continents with his wife and was a German teacher in the US for 20 years. He started two Edtech businesses in the 2010s. One provides graduate-level courses to over 15k teachers (since its founding) through a local university partnership, and the other business provided software to schools. He sold the software company in 2022 when he had over 3 million users, which allowed him to retire early.
