In 2022, having lived in Uganda for 18 months, Jamie set up The African Kingdom Trade & Investment Company (TAKTIC Ltd) - www.africankingdom.co.uk - with a mission to create demand for value-add naturally healthy food products from Africa, which in turn creates skilled jobs and thus supports African communities.
This started with importing and promoting Sunshine Nut cashews, manufactured in Mozambique, headed up by Don Larson, a previous KBP speaker. The promoted range has extended to include MIA (Made-in-Africa) Ghana Gold chocolate and a series of other products from Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, and Eswatini.
Most recently, these products are being promoted under the FAIRMADE banner - www.fairmade.group - a group of makers based in developing countries which have historically only sold raw materials at relatively low value. We registered a collective trademark for FAIRMADE in November 2024.
