Nick and Cheryl Dekoning, moved from setting up YWAM Uganda in 1986, to setting up Uwepo Ltd in January 2014, (https://www.facebook.com/uwepolive/) an agribusiness located close to the River Nile and Lake Victoria in Uganda, East Africa
UWEPO is a business partnership between international business people and African entrepreneurs. The aim to create partnerships for a sustainable future in Uganda and other African nations. The primary focus is agribusiness with emphasis on training and mentoring young Africans to lead the way to a sustainable prosperous future. Tree planting among the rural poor is a way Uwepo is helping impoverished farmers move towards wealth creation and long term sustainability.
A meeting between Nick and Jamie in 2017 was the inspiration behind the setting up of African Kingdom (www.africankingdom.co.uk), the business Jamie set up to import products from Uwepo and other food producers across Africa.
